The ZeppoThis isn’t just a kickass moment. This is also a very sad moment. It’s one of the few times when we see just how emotional Xander is under the jokes and silly clothes. He is, and always has been, willing to sacrifice himself for his friends. There are also implications here that he is slightly suicidal, and this episode shows how poorly he is treated and how very low his self esteem is.
#xander had canonically abusive parents#as problematic as his character is never forget that#it explains a lot of his behavior and it’s fucking important to remember#his parents were at the very least neglectful#in ‘restless’ implied to be outright physically abusive#never. fucking. forget that.#never forget how much xander’s home life sucked#to the point where he was willing to sleep outside the house in a sleeping bag while it snowed on /christmas/#never forget that.
